Thanks everyone for posting, I've absorbed your posts and am still thinking about my profession (but I think I'm pretty close with playing with a Mesmer), and sorry about being late coming back to the thread! .

Err...someone said that Prophecies is kinda dead...and I'm used to WoW populations...that might be a problem.

For the person starting WoW...its lotsa fun, but if your a casual gamer (like me) you might be spending the game inspecting people's gear in wonder and never having much of a chance in PvP. WoW is gear-based, but your success in the game depends on your playing time, and sometimes skill depending on class.

Thanks again everyone, and feel free to keep posting

I recently made a new character and played through Prophecies and it was far from dead. Yes, there are fewer players now then before and in a few missions (mainly the really tough ones) you might have a hard time getting a PUG. But still, unless you're really unfortenate you'll find PUGs quick enough, if not you can always hench 9/10 missions.

Prophecies aren't dead, I'm doing some missions on occation when I'm bored and although I prefer to play solo I just did the three desert missions without much trouble finding people to go along - I even managed to get a great group of all 20's for one of the missions.

The early missions are populated pretty decently, the only problem with them is that playing through them with a PuG can usually be harder than using henchmen. There are missions however, that are very hard to complete without the help of live players and ironically, they are the deserted ones.

It's possible to complete the entire game and never interacting with another human being, but if you like single player I recommend you get Oblivion or something.

id start with playing a ranger (you fight from a range and have a good amount of armor against elemental dmg and physical and not a very high demand on you junlike monks and warriors)
